A Guelph man is facing nine charges after a series of gas thefts.

Officers with the Guelph Police Service began investigating several retail thefts back in November. They said the case involved at least six drive-off gas thefts from the same station and three shoplifting incidents at different businesses.

Officers found a suspect sitting in his vehicle at a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North on Thursday and arrested him.

A 39-year-old Guelph man has been charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000.
