Some people living in the Kitchener area are cleaning up after strong winds damaged trees.

The city’s manager of forestry and natural areas, Josh Shea, confirmed crews responded to at least 7 emergency requests for fallen trees and limbs since 3 a.m. Monday.

A homeowner living in the Fernwood Place area woke up to find a large tree had fallen onto their fence.

Anyone who notices potential safety concerns regarding a tree on city owned property is urged to call 519-741-2345 or email the city.

In an email to CTV News on Monday, GrandBridge Energy said approximately 544 customers in Cambridge were without power starting at 6:49 a.m. after a large tree fell on the overhead powerlines at Roseville Road.

The tree was later removed and power was restored by 8:14 a.m.
