It seems everyone has something to say about singer Justin Bieber these days – including the First Lady.
Michelle Obama weighed in on the Stratford-born star’s legal troubles during a recent interview with Univision Radio in the U.S., explaining what she would do if Bieber were her son.
“I’d pull him close. I don’t know if it would be advice as much as action,” Obama told host Enrique Santos. “I would be very present and I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what’s going on in his head, to figure out who’s in his life and who’s not.”
Bieber, 19, is currently juggling a myriad of legal troubles on both sides of the border: Last month, the singer was arrested in Miami Beach on charges of DUI, resisting arrest and having an expired driver's licence.
Days later, he turned himself to Toronto police on a charge of assault for allegedly hitting a limousine driver several times in the back of the head.
Amid his legal woes, the First Lady told Santos that Bieber needs some good, motherly advice.
“I found that to be the case with my kids,” she said. “They want that advice from a parent. That want to see you on a daily basis, you know, because the thing is, he’s still a kid. He’s still growing up. So, I would pull him close.
