Guelph police are looking for two suspects after an electronics store on Woodlawn Road was robbed Sunday afternoon.

Two men, allegedly armed with a gun, entered The Source just before 5 p.m.

Police say the men forced two employees into a back room that acts as the store’s office and storage area.

With the staff secured at the rear of the store, the two suspects returned to the front of the store and allegedly took a quantity of cellphones along with other store merchandise.

There were no injuries during the robbery.

Police describe the suspects as black males between 20 and 30 years old.

The first man was wearing a patterned hoodie, black track pants and a black balaclava, and stands approximately 5’7”

The second man was wearing a grey hoodie and grey pants, and stands between 5’10” and 6’.

Police say it’s too soon to tell if the robbery is related to similar holdups at electronics stores in Guelph, Brantford and Toronto during the winter months.

“We’re looking at this robbery right now on its own,” said Const. Mike Gatto.

“We’ll try to determine … whether or not it’s people from other cities or people from our own community.”

Neighbouring businesses say they’ve heard of robberies in the area before, but never with guns involved.

“It’s alarming,” says Vivian Loney, owner of Palmer Cleaning Centre.

“You expect to hear that in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, but we feel isolated here.”

Police are asking anyone having information pertaining to this robbery to contact them at 519-824-1212 ext. 7343, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
