Guelph man arrested after distinctive NASCAR jacket stolen from home
A Guelph man is facing multiple charges after someone broke into a home while the residents were sleeping inside.
Guelph Police Service said officers were called to a Huron Street home on Thursday after the occupants discovered their house had been entered overnight and two phones, debit cards and a distinctive NASCAR jacket had been stolen.
Police said the cards were later used to make purchases downtown and a suspect was caught on video wearing the jacket.
On Friday, officers searched a home just outside the downtown area and found the stolen phones.
A 23-year-old Guelph man has been charged with break and enter, using a stolen credit card, possessing stolen property under $5,000 and three counts of breaching a probation order.
