A Hamilton man has been arrested after Guelph Police said he broke into his former workplace at least nine times after he was fired.

Officers were called to a possible break and enter in progress at the business near Gordon Street and Harvard Road just before 3 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, officers said they saw a grey SUV in the parking lot, but the driver sped off before they could speak with the driver.

The vehicle was found a short time later at a south-end plaza and two people were arrested. A third man was arrested as he walked toward the plaza.

Investigators said one of the people arrested was a former employee of the business that had broken into the store at least eight times between mid-October and mid-December. Officers found keys to the store during his arrest.

A 36-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with nine counts of break and enter.

A 25-year-old Mississauga man and an 18-year-old Toronto man have been charged with one count of break and enter each.
