Two teenage Guelph boys were injured in separate crashes Wednesday night.

The first incident happened at 5:40 p.m., at James and Mary streets in the city’s downtown.

According to Guelph Police, a 13-year-old cyclist suffered minor leg injuries when he was hit by a pickup truck after allegedly biking past a stop sign without stopping.

Shortly before 8 p.m., a 14-year-old cyclist was hit by an SUV on Hadati Road in the city’s north end.

Police say the 14-year-old, who was taken to hospital with a broken arm, wasn’t wearing a helmet or reflective clothing and didn’t have any lights or reflectors on his bike.

Charges against both cyclists under the Highway Traffic Act are pending.
