One staff member was taken to hospital with a knee injury after an incident at an open custody facility south of Petersburg.
Waterloo Regional Police were called to the Ray of Hope facility on Queen Street early Tuesday evening, in response to disturbance.
The facility is used for children between the ages of 12 and 17 to carry out their court-appointed sentences.
Police say the incident – a disturbance between inmates and staff – was contained within the building, which they were able to secure.
Charges are pending, as police say they continue to investigate.
