A cat was run over and left to die in the parking lot of the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society, officials there say.
According to the Humane Society, video surveillance shows a car driving into the parking lot of the organization’s Riverbend Drive property on May 19.
Once the car stops, officials say, a cat was released from the car – after which the vehicle ran over the cat and left the scene.
The cat was discovered later that morning when Humane Society personnel arrived for work.
Humane Society officials say the driver of the vehicle could be charged with an animal cruelty offence.
The car is described as being a relatively new two-door sedan, with a dark colour and flame decals on its front.
