Body of an elderly woman found outside of a school in Tillsonburg

Police are investigating after the body of an elderly woman was found outside an elementary school in Tillsonburg.

The woman’s remains were discovered around 6:30 a.m. Friday, at Maple Lane Public School, by an employee of the school.

Her identity and information on whether her death was related to frigid overnight temperatures was not immediately clear.

“It’s too early into the investigation to know that information,” Oxford County OPP Const. Stacey Culbert told CTV News.

Police say foul play is not suspected in connection with the death.

Maple Lane Public School remained open Friday, although kids were expected to be kept inside during recess as the police investigation continued.
