Cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen during an armed robbery at a variety store in Monkton, south of Listowel.

The robbery at T&J Variety occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Perth County OPP say two men entered the store, displayed a weapon and left the store on foot after being given the items.

One of the two men is described as being slim and 5’5” to 5’9” tall. Police say all of his clothing was black, including a Puma brand hoodie with bright yellow lining in the hood.
