Nearly 1,000 properties in the Tavistock area were without power Thursday evening.
Hydro One reported an outage stretching from New Hamburg to just east of Stratford, also encompassing Shakespeare and ending just north of Bright and Plattsville.
By 5:15 p.m., 820 properties were said to be without power.
The utility said that power was expected to be restored by 5:30 p.m.
Erie Thames Powerlines blamed the outage on a pole fire.
The whole town of Tavistock is without power due to a pole fire. Crews have been dispatched. Estimated time of restoration is 7:00 p.m.
