Despite poor field conditions as a result of all the rain, cold and wind this spring, the high school rugby seasons are nearing completion in the Waterloo Region.
In WCSSAA Girls Playoff action on Monday, the Bluevale Knights knocked off the Forest Heights Trojans 10-5 at RIM Park.
Beky Matejin scored five points for Bluevale, as the Knights advance to the WCSSAA Championship. It was the first losss of the season for Forest Heights.
In District-8 Girls Rugby, this is the final week of the regular season. Resurrection knocked off St. Mary's 17-3 Monday afternoon.
The Phoenix finish the regular season in first place with a record of six wins and no losses. The playoffs begin next week in Girls D-8 Rugby.
