A woman was airlifted by Ornge air ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital after a fire in Guelph, Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters got the call just after 3:30 p.m. that a townhouse on Greengate Road and Silver Creek Parkway was on fire.
Officials say a woman in her forty's has serious burns and is in critical condition.
Neighbours say they saw the woman running out of the unit, screaming with her adult son behind her.
She was initially taken to Guelph General Hospital.
Her son in his twenties is being treated for minor smoke inhalation.
Officials say the unit where the fire started is extensively damaged.
