The Waterloo Regional Police Service is trying to find a vehicle, and the people who were inside it, as part of an assault investigation in Cambridge.

Police received reports around 10:15 p.m. Sunday of a male assaulting a female in a vehicle in the King Street East and Westminster Drive North area.

When officers arrived, the vehicle took off. Due to concerns for the female’s wellbeing, officers chased after the vehicle. The pursuit was eventually called off over public safety concerns. The vehicle was last seen travelling east on Highway 401.

The vehicle was described as a 2020 grey Hyundai Sonata with the licence plate CVKN 589. There was also damage to the car’s front passenger door.

The driver was described as “brown” man, 5’10” and around 30-years-old. He had a thin build, short to medium length dark hair and dark facial scruff.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777, extension 6370.
