Police arrest man and seize drugs, taser after discovering stolen vehicle in Kitchener

A Kitchener man has been arrested and charged with multiple weapon and drug related charges after officers discovered a stolen vehicle in Kitchener.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, officers were on proactive patrol in the area of Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue around 9:50 p.m. New Year’s Eve and spotted an unoccupied stolen vehicle.

A short time later, police said officers saw a man approach the vehicle and placed him under arrest.

As a result of an investigation, suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, a taser, and multiple cell phones were seized.

A 30-year-old Kitchener was charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to order
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of suspected methamphetamine
  • Fail to comply with court order
