A man is facing charges after a concerned citizen reported someone with a bow and arrow in a vacant lot in Guelph.

Police were called to the Surrey Street East area just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found a man with a homemade bow and several arrows. He told officers he was shooting at wooden targets.

Investigators determined the man had two probation orders including conditions banning him from possessing weapons. He was arrested and police found suspected crystal methamphetamine during a search.

A 30-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing a controlled substance and four counts of breaching a probation order.
