An 18-year-old Brantford native has taken the next step in his football career, committing to the Laurier Golden Hawks for next season.
Former Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Vocational School pivot Michael Knevel is one of five quarterbacks now on the Hawks roster.
All five are expected to be in contention for the starting job when training camp opens in August.
The 6'4", 210-pound quarterback is considered a dual threat at the position. Not only does he have a strong arm, but he is also a threat on the ground with the ability to scramble out of the pocket.
Golden Hawks Head Coach Michael Faulds is looking forward to the addition of Knevel who comes from a successful football family.
Knevel’s twin brother, David, is playing next season south of the border with the Nebraska Cornhuskers of the NCAA.
