Guelph has just been named as one of the best places in Canada for newcomers by MoneySense magazine.
Some of the criteria for making the list was based on affordability, unemployment rate and ethnic make-up of the city.
In a release from Guelph’s mayor Cam Guthrie he explains how pleased he is about the honour and congratulates the city on its efforts to bring refugee families to the area.
“I’m proud that Guelph is such a welcoming city for new Canadians. Organizations like Immigrant Services, initiatives like the Local Immigration Partnership, and events like the Multicultural Festival …are working together to help create a community where everyone can thrive,” said Guthrie.
