Three men were told Tuesday, once again, that they will have to stand trial for first-degree murder.

Jerome Phillips, Kadeem Gabriel and Tyrone Wint all face charges in connection with the September 2012 death of Adam Jones.

Jones, 25, was shot in the head while standing outside his apartment building on Belmont Avenue in Kitchener.

Police have said that the shooting may have been the result of a drug deal going out of control.

In January, a judge upheld the decision to try the men for first-degree murder.

That decision was appealed, but it was announced Tuesday that the appeal was denied and the trial will remain a first-degree murder case.

The trial is expected to begin in January 2015.
