A 19-year-old woman has died in hospital after being hit by an SUV in northwest Waterloo.
The woman was hit around 7 a.m. Wednesday, while crossing Laurelwood Drive at Wild Ginger Avenue.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, she did not stop for the stop sign at Laurelwood, and biked directly into the path of the SUV.
She was taken to hospital with arm, leg and head injuries, and later airlifted to a hospital in Hamilton before being pronounced dead.
