One of three suspects accused in the murder of Nadia Gehl is denying allegations he held onto the murder weapon to blackmail her husband, Ron Cyr.
Zdenek ‘Dennis' Zvolensky, Nashat Qahwash and Cyr are all accused of first degree murder in the February 2009 shooting.
On the stand again Tuesday, Zvolensky denied allegation by Cyr's lawyer that his client pleaded with him to get rid of the gun.
Defence attorney Devin Bains also alleged that Cyr told Zvolensky he wouldn't tell the police.
But Zvolensky testified the conversation never happened, and that he didn't have the gun because Qahwash had destroyed it.
Both Zvolensky and Qahwash have denied involvement in Gehl's murder, and each has implicated the other.
On Monday, Bains accused Zvolensky of killing Gehl, suggesting he was angry after she told Cyr he couldn't join his business venture.
He also suggested Zvolensky held on to the murder weapon to blackmail Cyr.
Speculation continues over whether Cyr will testify at the trial, but the other two accused have both taken the stand.
The Crown alleges that Cyr enlisted the two men to kill his wife, but Bain claims Zvolensky and Qahwash acted on their own.
