The first of two trials for Sgt. Bradley Finucan will start in February.

Finucan, a veteran member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service, will stand trial at that time on charges relating to the possession of an unregistered firearm.

He also faces charges of criminal harassment and uttering death threats, which will be dealt with at a later date.

Court documents show that one of the alleged victims in that case is another employee of the police service.

Finucan has been suspended from his policing duties with full pay since January.
