The workers at Wescast Industries in Strathroy have voted 98 per cent in favour of a new collective agreement ending a three week strike.
The workers feared the auto parts maker would close the plant and move their work to China.
The agreement guarantees the plant will stick around for another year and they’ll work towards transitioning from iron to steel production.
The Canadian Auto Workers say Wescast has also increased the severance entitlements of its 65 employees.
