Wellington County OPP are looking for witnesses of crash on Elmira Road on the evening of Tuesday, March 13 between a van and a pickup truck.

Last Tuesday, around 7:40 p.m., Wellington County OPP officers responded along with Guelph Fire Department to a serious crash at the intersection of Wellington Road 86 and Wellington Road 30 northwest of Guelph.

The crash occurred when a Dodge van travelling northbound towards Ariss on Wellington Road 86 turned left at the lights onto Wellington Road 30 and was struck by an eastbound pickup.

The driver of the van, 66-year-old Velma Hill of Cambridge was transported to Guelph General Hospital and soon transferred to Hamilton General Hospital where she has since succumbed to her injuries. The Dodge pickup driver was not injured.

This collision is still under investigation by members of the County of Wellington OPP Traffic Management Unit.
