Waterloo Regional Police are searching for 34-year-old Kitchener resident Sidney Harry Reid.
Reid escaped custody shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, after being treated at St. Mary’s Hospital for minor injuries according to police.
He has been charged with trafficking, assault with intent to resist arrest, escape lawful custody and breach of probation.
Police say the charges are related to an ongoing investigation into street-level illegal drug activity and have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Reid is described as white, with light brown hair, blue eyes, 5’10”, 172lbs, and has a medium build.
Police say Reid is considered to be violent, and members of the public are encouraged not to approach him.
