It's off to work as usual this morning for thousands of workers at Fiat-Chrysler's operations in Ontario.
Unifor and the automaker came to terms one a four-year deal just minutes before a strike deadline of 11:59 p.m. last night.
Union president Jerry Dias says the agreement mirrors one reached with General Motors last month in which workers received wage increases, a six-thousand dollar signing bonus, benefit upgrades and a commitment to invest in its Canadian operations.
Dias says one highlight of the Fiat-Chrysler deal is a $325 million investment at an assembly plant in Brampton.
Unifor says the Fiat-Chrysler workers will vote on Sunday, and if approved, the union will immediately hold talks with Ford.
