One person had minor injuries after a fiery crash Wednesday in Waterloo.

Police responded to the collision between a Toyota and Chevrolet at Frobisher Drive, near Bridge Street West and Superior Drive, around 12:25 p.m.

A man who witnessed the crash told CTV News that he saw one driver get out of her vehicle just minutes before the fire erupted.

“There was a little flame over the top of the one light as I got there. I came back to get a fire extinguisher, I pulled back, and the whole top end was already on fire,” Matt Smith said.

The road was closed for several hours for the investigation and cleanup.
