Two people are in hospital in Hamilton with serious injuries after two separate traffic incidents near Brantford.

Just after 6:30 Wednesday evening, Brant OPP were called to the corner of Garden ave and Johnson Road in Brantford’s east end.

Two pedestrians were attempting to cross Garden Ave when a 13-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle. He suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to hospital and then transported to Hamilton Health Sciences and is listed in critical condition.

A second crash, early Thursday resulted in another person being sent to hospital in Hamilton.

Just before 4 a.m. Brant OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Highway 24 and Colborne Street, south of Highway 403.

The site of the crash is an intersection controlled by stop lights. Two men in a Volkswagen were sent to Brantford General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV involved was transferred to Hamilton Health Sciences with serious injuries.

The OPP are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
