A collision in Kitchener on Thursday evening sent two pedestrians to hospital.

Police say a 49-year-old Kitchener woman was driving a Hummer eastbound on Westmount Road near Westwood Drive when she struck the pedestrians, who were crossing at an unmarked pedestrian safety island.

The pedestrians, a 53-year-old Kitchener man and 73-year-old Kitchener woman, were taken to hospital. Details of their injuries were not available.

The driver of the Hummer and her 19-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were not injured.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
