Two-car crash near Tavistock sends two to hospital

Two drivers were taken to hospital following a Tuesday morning crash near Tavistock.

Oxford County OPP were called to Highway 59 south of Tavistock, between Cassel Sideroad and Maplewood Sideroad, shortly after 6 a.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and both drivers were taken to hospital in Woodstock with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 59 was closed between Cassel and Maplewood for about five hours as police investigated the crash.

  Provincial police say they began investigating last month after hearing from other law enforcement agencies that drugs were being imported in vehicles shipped to Canada by rail.
