A 50-year-old man has been charged with careless driving for mounting on to the center embankment of a roundabout.
The accident happened near Elmira on Arthur and Sawmill roads at around 1 a.m.
Police say the driver failed to merge properly in the roundabout causing the truck to go onto the embankment. The truck was loaded with auto parts.
By the time police arrived to the scene, the truck's fuel tank was leaking diesel.
St. Jacobs Fire Department collected the fuel, and the Region of Waterloo's Water Services team attended the scene to assess if there were any environmental issues.
Police say no one was injured.
