Trail to St. Jacobs Farmers' Market now open
A new way to get to the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market is now available to the public.
The Region of Waterloo unveiled the Market Trail on Wednesday and held the official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.
Regional officials, councillors, and residents were on hand for the grand opening just over a year after the region first approved of the trail construction.

The 1.5 km trail runs alongside train tracks and connects the LRT stop on Northfield Drive with Farmers Market Road.
The project received $1.2 million from the federal government, $940,000 from the province, and $750,000 from the region.
A trail connection between the Northfield stop and Parkside Drive is in the works from the City of Waterloo. Once this is constructed, walkers and riders will be able to go from the farmers' market all the way down the Iron Horse Trail.
