Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 20-year-old man in connection to three pellet gun incidents in Waterloo in September.
On September 7 at 1 a.m. a 19-year-old woman was struck with a pellet while walking on King Street North near University Avenue. Another 19-year-old woman was hit around 2 a.m. Both had minor injuries. A third 19-year-old woman was hit in the eye around 5:30 p.m. She suffered a serious injury, and is still under medical care.
“These incidents occurred on King Street North in Waterloo between Hickory Street and Columbia Street, and it is from our information believed to have come from one of the high-rise buildings,” said Mike Haffner, Executive Officer with Waterloo Regional Police Services.
“As a result of the investigation we’ve identified that this 20-year-old male is responsible for the three incidents that happened on September 7,” Haffner said.
Nick Pavlasek, from Toronto appeared in court Wednesday to face two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and aggravated assault. He was released on bail.
Police say Pavlasek is a student at Wilfrid Laurier University.
