More members of the alleged criminal group Luminati Brotherhood Club were handed prison sentences in a Kitchener courtroom on Wednesday.

The sentencing comes more than a year after a number of people were arrested in an undercover police drug operation in October 2010 dubbed Project Grand Slam.

Twenty-eight-year-old Denton Emonts, the alleged leader of the group, was one of the three sentenced.

All three had pleaded guilty to various drug charges late last year before being sentenced on Wednesday.

Emonts was sentenced to 11 years less 17 months credit for pre-trial custody.

Pavel Kanfer was handed the equivalent of a three-and-a-half year sentence while Nicola Dancetovic was sentenced to two-and-a-half years.

Richard Kunst is set to be sentenced on Jan. 16.

The Crown argues that Kunst should face a two-year term, while the defence says because he has no record he should be sentenced to house arrest or a maximum of 12 months behind bars.

Defence lawyer Owen Haw says "Recently a man…with a long criminal record, received a sentence of 18 months in prison, so I think my Kunst, if he has to go to real prison, should fall somewhere between nine to 12 months."

The cases of two other suspects accused following the drug bust are still before the courts, with the preliminary hearing for one beginning Wednesday.
