Middlesex OPP and London police have three people in custody after a shooting in Wyoming Tuesday evening.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, a man was shot at a residence on Erie Street in the village of Wyoming, east of Sarnia.

Three suspects fled the scene in an SUV heading north towards Highway 402. A short time later, the SUV was spotted by police eastbound on Highway 402.

Police made an attempt to stop the vehicle but it fled . A tire deflation device was deployed near Longwoods Road, near Delaware, to immobilize the vehicle. When the vehicle stopped, the three suspects fled on foot. Two were quickly apprehended while the third suspect was successful at avoiding capture.

The area was contained by Middlesex OPP along with canine and tactical units with assistance of London police. An extensive search of the area was conducted through the night and into Wednesday morning.

The third suspect, who police considered armed and dangerous, was tracked down and arrested. Residents in the area were advised to remain indoors with doors locked.

Thirty-one year old Robert A. Gibson of Hamilton, 32-year-old Jason Venne from Burlington and 22-year-old Thomas Nagy from Niagara Falls have been charged and remanded in custody.

The victim of the shooting was transported to hospital for treatment and is said to have non-life threatening injuries.
