A Kitchener teen was taken to Hamilton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old boy was crossing Ottawa Street North at McGee Avenue when he was hit by a car. The impact of the crash sent the teen and his bike onto the sidewalk.

Police say incidents like this should remind the public to think of cycling and pedestrian safety.

“If you’re a pedestrian, look both ways before you cross the street,” says Insp. Brian Atchinson.

The driver of the car was not injured.

No charges were laid in the incident, but police are seeking witnesses to the collision.
