A man who robbed a drug store in a Waterloo mall claimed to have a gun, although no weapon was seen.

The robbery happened shortly before noon Monday at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Conestoga Mall.

Waterloo Regional Police say a man approached a pharmacist in the store and passed them a note claiming he had a gun and demanded a specific drug.

The suspect, seen at left in surveillance footage, is described as a white man, six feet tall with a thin build and reddish hair.

He was wearing light blue jeans with lettering on the back pocket, a long-sleeved sweater, white running shoes and a black baseball cap with lettering on the front.
