Sharlene Bosma hopes a new charity will help others who go through what she has gone through over the past three months.
Bosma’s husband, Tim, was killed in May after taking two men for a test drive of a pickup truck he was selling.
His death sparked a large-scale investigation, with police focused on a farm property in North Dumfries and a hangar at the Region of Waterloo International Airport.
Dellen Millard and Mark Smich have both been charged with first-degree murder in the case.
Speaking to reporters outside a Hamilton court where Millard and Smich both made appearances Thursday, Bosma said the charity will help ensure at least one positive legacy from Tim’s death.
“It’s the first time in almost three months something has given me hope that something good can come out of what happened to Tim,” she said.
Known as Tim’s Tribute, the charity will work with Christian Stewardship Services to help the families of Hamilton-area homicide victims with burial costs, everyday expenses and other unexpected hits.
A memorial concert for Bosma is being held Aug. 9 at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.
Proceeds from the concert, featuring the band Martha’s Trouble, will go toward Tim’s Trouble.
