Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Essex-Windsor area. The areas affected are Sarnia, Lambton County, Chatham-Kent, Windsor and Essex County.
Thunderstorms over lower michigan are heading toward Essex County. Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats.
Wind gusts to 100 km/h are expected with these thunderstorms.
This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall.
An earlier string of thunderstorms rolled across Middlesex County, around 4:00 a.m., dropping a substantial amount of rain.
Remember that some severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes. Emergency management ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.
