A settlement has been reached in a civil lawsuit stemming from the death of a Guelph woman in a complicated medical case.
Dora Labonte was 40 when she died shortly after suffering a stroke, nearly ten years ago.
She had reportedly been treated by her long-time chiropractor, Tracy Drynan, about three weeks before suffering the stroke.
Her husband Joe Labonte had alleged medical negligence on behalf of the St. Catharines chiropractor led to her death.
The trial, which began last week, was expected to last more than two months, with the family seeking damages in the case.
The family's lawyer now says a settlement has been reached following only four days of testimony.
No details of the settlement will be released, but the Labonte family has reportedly expressed appreciation to the Canadian chiropractic profession for reaching a fair resolution.
