The sentencing date for Kareem Pottinger, who has been convicted of manslaughter, has been adjourned for a month.

The 28-year-old Kitchener man was charged after he punched a man twice at a bar in 2010.

The man, 49-year-old James Ikpiro, was knocked out for 10 minutes but refused medical attention. He died two days later.

The Crown is seeking a five-year sentence, while the defence is calling for a conditional or suspended sentence.

Pottinger is now scheduled to be sentenced on November 28.
