The controversial recommendation at the Bluewater public school board to ban the distribution of bibles and other religious material is taking a turn for the worse.

Trustee Fran Morgan says many members of the board covering Bruce and Grey counties are receiving threatening messages.

The board will hold a final vote on the proposal -- approved by a committee yesterday -- on April 17th.

If the ban is approved, it will end a 60-year practice of Gideon Bibles being distributed to Grade 5 students who had received permission from their parents.
