Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for a violent home invasion in Sarnia.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. at a home on Cameron Street. Police say a man with a knife broke into the home and confronted two women who were inside.

Police say he knew the two women.

The man slashed one of the women in the chest before he fled on foot.

Police tracked down the man a short time later. When confronted, he dropped the knife and ran.

The area was searched extensively but police were not able to find the man.

Police are looking for Shawn Michael Street of Sarnia. He’s described as:

  • Age: 36
  • Height: 166cm
  • Weight: 81Kg
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Hair: Brown

Street could be carrying a knife, and should be considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking members of the public not to approach Street.

Street’s facing a number of charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and break and enter.
