More than 48 hours after a woman’s body was found inside a parked car at the side of a rural road in Blandford-Blenheim, police have said little about who the woman is or how she came to be there.

The discovery was made Saturday morning, on Canning Road near Highway 2, between Paris and Princeton.

Manuel Da Silva says he was out for a walk Saturday when he saw the car parked at the side of the road, with its engine running.

Da Silva says he couldn’t see anybody in the front seat, and tinted windows made it hard to see in the back.

The Ontario Provincial Police say results of a post-mortem examination are expected Tuesday, and Canning will remain closed to traffic until then.

While people in that area wait to learn who was found dead inside the car, residents of the nearby community of Drumbo are seeking answers about the disappearance of a young mother.

Jessica Rowe was last seen Saturday morning, leaving to go to work in Cambridge.

On social media, where her picture has been shared thousands of times, friends described her as a wonderful person with a smile that could light up any room she was in.

Friends said that Rowe’s disappearance came weeks before her wedding.

An online fundraising page has already raised thousands of dollars for her fiancé and her son.
