Although police have found her van, they're still searching for a Woodstock woman who disappeared nearly a week ago.
Brenda Duncan, 57, went missing on Jan. 11. Police say she told her husband that she was going to work but had already called her office to say she wouldn't be in. They also say that she hasn't used her credit card or cell phone since her disappearance.
Duncan's ran was found on Sunday afternoon at the McTavish Cemetery just outside Tavistock by a staff member. Police believe the car had been parked behind the cemetery building since last week, but can't determine how long it's been there due to heavy snowfall.
The OPP have been searching the area by helicopter, with 20 officers and a search dog on the ground.
County OPP Const. Kees Wijnands says "There's a lot of bush, swamp land and a lot of rivers. It's not a great area to be wandering around."
While the OPP are searching the area surrounding the cemetery, Woodstock police are trying to determine if there's any connection between Duncan and the cemetery.
Karen Griffioen, who lives near the cemetery, watched the search from her home nearby. "It's scary to lose somebody and hopefully they'll find her alive," she says.
Wijnands hopes to find Duncan safe and sound, "Our hope is to find her alive. That would be absolutely wonderful to have some answers for the family members."
Duncan is described as white, 5'7", 115 lbs, blue eyes, long, straight shoulder-length brown hair with bangs, possibly wearing a red velvet blazer and black pants.
