Guelph police were called for an assault investigation on Sanderson Drive on in the evening of Aug. 25.
When they arrived, a male had barricaded himself inside a home.
After two hours, they were able to extract him without incident.
A female known to the man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Charges are pending, but further details were not clear.
