Police search for man after 34-year-old woman stabbed
Brantford police say they are searching for a male suspect, after a 34-year-old woman was stabbed Sunday night at approximately 11:15 p.m., in the south end of the city.
Police are looking to arrest 30-year-old Albert Michael James Hilliker, of no fixed address, for attempt murder.
“A female was stabbed by a male on the sidewalk on Erie Avenue in Brantford. She received lacerations and had to undergo surgery,” said Insp. David Wiedrick.
“We got calls from neighbours down on Erie Avenue that a female bleeding, had attended to a porch area. Police were called, EMS attended, and female escorted to the Brantford General Hospital,” said Wiedrick.
She is in hospital under guard for her own protection, and is expected to survive, according to police.
Police say both parties knew each other and that while this was a targeted attack, Hilliker should be considered dangerous and is known to carry knives.
He left the area in a pick-up truck.
Hilliker has an extensive criminal past involving violent offences, according to police, and should not be approached.
