Waterloo Regional Police remain on scene at an apartment complex on Westwood Drive in Kitchener where a man was found dead on Thursday afternoon.
Officers were speaking with neighbours and processing the scene throughout the day on Saturday.
Fire fighters were called to the building Thursday afternoon after there were reports of flames coming from a ground floor unit.
Inside the apartment, crews discovered a man’s body with signs of trauma, according to police.
Homicide investigators have been brought in to investigate the suspicious death. The victim has not yet been identified.
Police say it appears the attack was not random.
