Investigators were on scene well into the night near St. Mary’s after two men were killed in a crash.

The collision happened shortly after 4:30pm on Road 149.

Thirty-four year-old Travis Iredale and 26-year-old Kurtis Mills -- both of St. Marys -- were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Iredale was the driver of the veicle and lost control of his Mazda 6 on the gravel road. The vehicle slid sideways into the ditch before hitting a tree.

“The impact indicated the occupants had very little chance because of the way the vehicle landed against the large tree. No airbags would have saved them because the vehicle ended up with the roof against the scene. It was a pretty tragic scene,” says Cst. Kees Wijnands, Perth County OPP.

Investigators believe both men are related. A close friend told CTV News Iredale was a musician; others say Mills loved to smile.
